thanks. this is actually from Dec. He already can walk, even play basketball as before. and there is almost no visable scar.

cool what can be done! my son had his esophagus connected to his stomach. i feel for him and his family! what doesn't kill us makes us stranger!

That's really neat! I read the surgeon's article and he seems to have used a different technique, and it only took just over 3 hours! Mine took 6 hours, and they used a single rod looped down over the top of the spine, and used donor cartilage to fuse the rod to my spine. I'm so glad your friend was given a new lease on life, all the best of luck to him!
