With cases like these, I always wonder what was the turning point. What exactly happened to make them go back to the hospital? Cause they were ok with prayer when the kid lost his vision, when his eyes started popping out of his head, when his eyes shriveled up like rotten raisins, when his eye sockets were turning inside out, so what was that final straw to make them go “ehh, maybe God doesn’t have this”.

Surely religious folks must understand that God also allowed science and medicine to develop so that this type of stuff doesn't have to happen? I mean, I am a Christian myself and I take a bunch of medication. If I was to stop all my medication and switch to prayer? I'd be about dead in 6 months. Prayer is great when it is positive and encouraging but it is not something that should a substitute for medicine.

They think it’s a lack of faith. Some believe it’s always god’s will to heal, and if you see a doc or take meds you’ll miss out on this blessing. My parents were involved in a sect of christianity that believed this shit when I was a kid.
