Re: What the Fuck is Going on Here?
This is a weird first post to make, but yeah, anyway: The cord most likely hadn't been cut yet because it was probably intended as part of a lotus birth. They intentionally leave the placenta connected to the baby and allow the umbilical cord to fall off in its own time, usually a few days later. They wrap the baby and the placenta together during that time, as well. Makes my stomach turn a bit. |

Re: What the Fuck is Going on Here?
agreed, that poster obviously doesn't seem to understand what we women have to go through when it comes to childbirth. Its life sign of the next generation, and that is a miracle in itself. She sorta does have a scary look on her face, but idk why they wouldn't let her rest before the picture, I would be exhausted after that.

Re: What the Fuck is Going on Here?
Off topic but, some women believe that eating their placenta after giving birth prevents postpartum depression and other pregnancy complications, but there is no evidence to support this. I saw a video on this not too long ago (don't remember if it was on DR or somewhere else). I'll try to post it if i do. I'm sure you'll all enjoy seeing a placenta being carefully washed and prepared in a kitchen sink by a complete stranger while the new dad voices his sudden symptoms of nausea and sweating behind the camera |
