It sounds like there's a defect during the time when the abdomen is supposed to close around the organs and goes the opposite way.

Did the cow make it? Amazing work! For many years, I said routinely, "I sure wish I had as much trust in my own physicians as I do in my dog's vet." (I actually do, now, because I have a great primary-care doc; my vet is still the best in three time zones.) :-) |

omg that's so crazy. the fact that an inside out calf can even survive in utero is whack to me. i would've loved to see an ultrasound before she went into labor.

Very, very bizarre.I used to work around cows a lot, on a farm and as a dairy herd inspector (milk tester). I have seen many strange things, but nothing ever like this. I bet none of my farmers had, either. |
