A baby's birth is incredible from any perspective, but it's especially so when you get to see it from inside the mom's body. Using images captured in November 2010 with a special "open" MRI machine, a team of doctors at Berlin's Royal Charité Hospital have released a breakthrough MRI video showing a baby making his way down his mother's birth canal during the "pushing" stage.

Doctors stopped filming right before the baby fully emerged to protect the infant's hearing from exposure to MRI noise. The remarkable real-time movie, which lasts 30 seconds, (much shorter than the 24-year-old mother's entire labor), is truly a crowning achievement.

If I had had children, I would have filmed the birth and when they misbehaved, I'd show the video and say, "Do you see what I went through? Do you want to go back?"

This would only work for the first few years of life until they realize they're too big to go back ;)
