Re: Videos of My Gangrene Foot and Amputation
That's terrible that had happened to you. If I were in your position, I think I would have opted for the same procedure. (Whether or not I had the money for the surgeries.) Before they amputated, that looked horrific.. I know there was nerve damage but there is still pain associated with it. (And you stated as well there was.) I would imagine they had you taking some strong pain medication.. If not? I have no idea how you managed. (kinda scratch my head thinking even WITH the medication that had to be very painful beyond your expression. And you stated you were waiting week/weeks to have the surgery? Wish you well with the prosthesis, you have the will and attitude to get through it. :) |

Re: Videos of My Gangrene Foot and Amputation
Yes. I can still feel my toes and ankle and bottom of my foot and everything. If I concentrate, I can make it feel like they are moving. It kind of feels like my foot is inside the most comfortable tight sock ever. At the same time, I get a lot of phantom pain. It feels like someone is squeezing my second toe with vice-grips, stabbing the side of my foot with needles, and it kind of feels like the bottom of my foot is really tight, like the tendons are frozen. Sometimes I get sudden rhythmic shocks to my foot too. Sometimes I get a foot cramp in my ghost foot, especially if my mind really wants to move my foot like.. Whenever I drive a stick shift, my foot wants to plantarflex to press in the clutch, but I can't obviously because i have a prosthetic foot, so I just end up giving myself a foot cramp from trying to plantarflex a foot that isn't there anymore. The phantom pains used to keep me up at night but they aren't that bad anymore. |
