that is exactly what was going through my mind also as i watched it. many moons ago when i was a kid, i don't think there was an operation that the patient wasn't completely anethesized, totally out of it. but after seeing this video, i'm starting to wonder if there is any operation that a patient IS put completely under nowadays. well that sure fucks up my future dreams. i had high hopes of dying while complete anethesized. it would probably be like dying in your sleep but you wouldn't possibly wake up in shock before you died. |

I don't think this is an operation, for most severe operations a human has to be put to sleep. This seems post op and the guy is awake. I think he got some sort of infection in the wound and now it has to remain open until it closes by itself. In this clip it looks like they're changing the dressings. |
