Actually, this is pretty common in cows. Treatment normally consists of pushing it back in and placing a few stitches in to hold it in.

Kinda makes my homegrown's look good. No beef crosses these lips unless it's mine. No drugs, just lots of sweet grass, apples, clover and hay...yum!

They also use fork lifts to stand sick cows up so they can "walk" in. I love meat but after seeing how it is harvested has made me change my shopping habits.
