One beautiful moment captured on video shows that nurses can be more than just caregivers. They can become cheerleaders and friends.

Bailey Murrill made an amazing recovery just 11 days after being paralyzed. She decided to surprise one of her favorite nurses by getting out of her wheelchair and walking over for a hug. The nurse's reaction is priceless.

When the nurse sees Murrill sitting in her wheelchair, she approaches her with open arms as if to hug her. Then Murrill stands up. The nurse screams in shock and jubilation and embraces her saying, "Yes! Thank you Lord!"

She holds on for a long time, rocking Murrill back and forth. They both wipe away tears and then go in for another hug.

The video has more than 3 million views on YouTube, with people commenting that this nurse demonstrates how hard health care workers cheer for their patients.

Bailey Murrill, of Denton in Texas, had been inexplicably paralyzed for 11 days and was being cared for in hospital.

The whole incident started when the Texas teen was wrestling with her dad at their home when she accidentally landed hard on her back and lost feeling in her legs below the hips.

Bailey said doctors at the Zale Lipshy University Hospital in Dallas tried in vain to help their paralyzed patient walk again, but, during the whole ordeal Murrill said it was her faith in God that kept her going.

“The whole time I had this attitude I would leave it in His hands and be prepared for what He decided,” she said.

During those 11 days, Bailey Murrill says she bonded with the nurse in the video over their shared beliefs as Christians.

Then, on April 11, Bailey was undergoing physical therapy when she suddenly felt a sensation within her legs, and the physical therapist told her that her leg’s hamstring was flexing.

“We waited it out and the same way the feeling left my legs it returned,” she said.

In one popular comment, Connan Reid wrote, "If I ever go to the hospital, I want her as my nurse."

In another, Luke Piechowski, said it highlights what an emotionally draining job it is.

"That is the reaction of a woman who has given too much, for too few victories," he wrote. "Bless our health workers."

Just a note - vertebrae count from top to bottom - the uppermost cervical vertebra is C1, then C2 etc. All mammals everywhere have seven cervical vertebrae (yes a mouse has as many neck vertebrae as a giraffe, nobody's sure why this is). Anyway, C4/C5 is at the middle to base of the neck. The base of the head is the atlanto-occipital joint, then the atlanto-axial joint (C1/C2).

An easy way to remember vertebrae numbers (7 cervical, 12 thoracic, 5 lumbar) is to remember you have breakfast at 7, lunch at 12 and dinner at 5 (also, all thoracic vertebrae have a rib attached - none others do).

I love these kind of outcomes and soldier returning home to their families and surprising them!
