Traumatic Amputation

Traumatic amputation

This severe leg injury was the result of an accident (a motorcyclist, as is usually the case). The bone in the photo is the tibia.

Translated from Russian.

The skin around the thigh looks so cleanly cut so I'm wondering if the surgeon did it?

My source is Russian so there's not always great information to go with these.

Re: Traumatic Amputation

Yeah, I thought of that cause I agree it looks intentional and smooth. I guess I've just always thought of amputations in the old school saw through that shit and and get it off. Perhaps this is how they do the prep before removing the bone and making a stub that is easy to fit for a prosthesis.
