A blade like object was most likely thrusted into the left anterior mandible where it was deflected and then protruded out through the medial neck following a transverse vector inferior to the mandible leading towards the mastoid process.

Areas potentially effected: Sternocleidomastoid muscle, Platysma muscle, Left Common Carotid Artery (possibly not deep enough), Left Jugular (possibly not deep enough). Actually with nominal vital signs then the artery and vein are pretty much intact which means that his injury will be more cosmetic and less life threatening (barring infections)
