These are very hard, bony growths in the roof of the mouth. They start out small, but can become quite large over time. Sometimes they can interfere with the construction of an upper denture. Removal of these can be complicated by their proximity to the nasal cavity. Upon occasion they are "pneumatized" meaning that the nasal cavity may extend into the torus itself.

Very vascular tissue in the oronasal maxillary region. As mentioned before, surgical intervention is difficult because of the proximity to major blood vessels. HCP (Health Care Providers) call this region the triangle of death (eyes, nose, mouth region). With that said, if infection or trauma occur in that area, it is very difficult to surgically repair.

On a less brighter note.. Oral sex or blow jobs are not favorable :
