Tonsillectomy.

I am on day two of having my tonsils out. Yesterday started out as any other day. Woke up, took a shower, laid on the couch . When I got in the car, I got a great text that said ” Sweetheart I know that you've been worried about this but I just wanted to let you know that although I can’t physically be there for you, if you choose to think of me, I’ll be thinking of you. But all in all, don’t think about it. Just think of all the ice cream you’ll get when it’s all over :)

I know it’s hard for us to get along recently, but it’s just that it frustrates me that the girl that’s perfect for me is in a location that’s quite imperfect for me :/ Anyways, I don’t know what time you’re getting it done, but I hope you see this message before you do, and I want you to know that no matter what we go through or what we say.

There will always be a spot for you in my heart:) I love you so much!” :/Anyways, I got to the hospital. We went to Surgicare and checked in. Soon, a man called my name, and I headed back to this room. The nurse said “My name is Dave, and I will be helping you prep for surgery.” He handed me a gown, and told me to put it on then meet him in the Surgery Waiting Room.

I was allowed to bring my mother, so I left my dad and brother in the first waiting room. As I walked into the Surgery Waiting Room, I noticed that everyone had a reclining chair and warm blankets. I sat down, talked to the nurse a bit, then got an IV.Dave messed up on my left hand, so I have a small bruise. He had a different person try my right hand, which worked. Then they inserted a tube into my vein, to pump “Liquid breakfast” into it, which was a clear mixture of vitamins and hydrating substance.

I sat in that chair for 3 hours talking to my mother and waiting for Dr. Lurton to be ready for me. At 12:15, he came out and got me. I was taken to a bright room with sterile things EVERYWHERE. I was told to lay down, and asked if I wanted any more blankets. I declined, and got ready for the inevitable.

I asked to see what they were going to take my tonsils out with. It was a grey wand thing that cauterizes (Chemically burns) them off. They laid me down, and put an oxygen mask on my face that made my nose itch. Then they hooked my IV up to the anesthesia. He told me to count backwards from 100.I got to like 87, then I remember the last thing I said was “Oh crap!”Then I woke up in the recovery room by coughing.

I started crying about my tongue hurting and asking for my mom, and my nurse was like “If you keep crying, your parents won’t be allowed in. We don’t want to scare them.”So my mom and dad and brother came in, and I asked the nurse if I could have water. She said ” No, it might make you nauseous, but you can have Ice chips. “So my dad fed me ice chips from a plastic spoon.Once I got a little more conscious, she asked if I wanted a Popsicle. And lemme tell ya, that was the best damn cherry Popsicle on God’s green earth.

Then I sat there for a while longer while she took the heart monitor, blood pressure thing, and IV off. Then I got put in a wheel chair, and wheeled to the main area where my mommy got my a Vanilla frappuccino with caramel in it, and got in the car.My dad gave me some liquid Lortab. Didn't taste too good, but got rid of the pain somewhat. It’s not too too bad yet, considering I’m still under the anesthesia. My tongue is numb, but the sides hurt really bad from this thing they put on it to keep it down while they cauterized my tonsils out.And my throat hurts, but it isn't unbearable. The worst day is supposedly the 5th day.

Joy oh joy.Basically, I have two large holes that are black and white. It’s weird. The moment we've all been waiting for: The first three pictures are from day one. The last one is from today. It is the worst pain I have EVER gone through, and I do not recommend it for anyone.

I've done everything the doctor told me to do. My tongue looks gross in the last photo, because I took it right after eating.
Hah, Happy Goring.<3
