I cringed. I did something similar to my middle finger as a kid (age 8). I tried to help my Dad bring a 50 lb salt block (for the water softener) into the laundry-room...it slipped and I TRIED to catch it... My middle finger got caught between the cement floor and the salt block... It popped like a berry. Finger guts all over the softener. Was actually able to stitch it up and have very little nerve/cosmetic damage.

Same exact thing for my brother though he explained that it popped like a zit. Same difference though. He just got the stitches taken out Friday and I must say, you can't tell he did shit to that thumb. Amazing. The one true thing that got me and it wasn't the whole pop of finger guts, but they actually put stitches through the fingernail. For some reason it makes me cringe just thinking about it. UGH.
