Thinking of Colouring Your Hair?

As a user of home dyes I am slightly put off seeing these pics of people who suffered allergic reactions to the chemicals in the dye.

Re: Thinking of Colouring Your Hair?

That is why they suggest a 48 hour skin test though sometimes that doesn't work it seems.
Now what will I do? Find out what my natural hair color is? No way man. Not going back there again!

Re: Thinking of Colouring Your Hair?

I always do a test if I'm trying out a new color or brand. Only had a slight reaction to one. Severe reactions like that are rare.

Re: Thinking of Colouring Your Hair?

i've dyed the shit out of my hair and the most reaction i've had is the stinging from the bleach. considering i have half red and half black hair i'm pretty experienced with hair dye and either these people did something wrong or didn't do a test strand. home dye kits are meant to be particularly safe.

Allergies have been known to occur with something as benign as water. Just because you have never had any issues doesn't mean others won't :-)

Re: Thinking of Colouring Your Hair?

I'm usually the 0.01% with the problem, but, I'm guessing those people are allergic to one or more of the ingredients or were very messy. And yes, I'm color treated :)
