I worked in a Saw Mill for 15 years , I transported 36 fingers and 4 very smashed hands to the local ER without the owners . I used to keep the fingers in a cup of ice in my cup holder of my truck or a lunch box for bigger junks . I got stuck in traffic on Interstate 5 once with a couple fingers and a piece of thumb and I chewed a lot of Copenhagen back them and accidentally used the cup for a spit cup . I tried to clean them off before I got to the ER because my boss and the doctors were waiting out side . The Doctor didn't realize what it was but my Foreman knew right away and just shook his head . I had to make 5 trips that night because the idiot said he knew what he was doing but didn't . It's not the kind of place to pretend to know what your doing , he made it 5 hours . There were 3 fatality and 1 leg and arm ripped off . I got to the point it didn't bother me at all anymore . A few lived they would Life flight them out of are log yard . I never put them in my mouth though .  |
