Thief Tried to Escape on Train, Lost a Leg Instead
Pindorama, São Paulo, Brazil A man suspected of theft had part of his leg amputated after a failed escape attempt on Saturday afternoon (14). According to the Military Police, the incident occurred after the suspect broke into a residence where a couple and their daughter live. The suspect allegedly entered the home and hid in the bathroom. However, when surprised by the couple’s daughter, he attempted to flee, taking two cell phones and a notebook. The homeowner then began a pursuit, and in an attempt to escape, the suspect tried to climb onto a moving train but fell between the cars, resulting in one of his legs being severed. At the hospital, the suspect was arrested in flagrante for qualified theft and remains hospitalized under police custody. The case is still under investigation. |
