Tattoo-Associated Skin Reactions: Infected Tattoos and Ink Allergies
Tattoo-associated skin reactions include inflammation, allergic reactions and infections involving tattooed skin. Infection is uncommon after tattooing, but reported infections include impetigo, cellulitis, herpes simplex, fungal infections and atypical mycobacterial infections. Contaminated tattoo ink has also been documented. Red pigments cause the most allergic reactions, particularly mercury sulfide, also called cinnabar. Reactions to black, blue, purple and green pigments are much less common. Laser removal does not always completely clear a tattoo and can cause scarring, changes in skin colour and spread of an allergic reaction. |

Pretty sure these people..... 1. Got tattoo'd by a NON-professional 2. Didn't bother taking care of the tattoo 3. Got it done at a GRIMEY place. 4. Didn't know they were allergic to the ink 5. Are just plain stupid. :) Those are just guesses, though.... :) |

I think you nailed it. Almost every reputable place uses an autoclave, new needles, and the top products. It makes me question some of their judgement as a tat is for life and not something you go to some guys basement who says he can do a tat. |
