My son was badly burned in a fire seven years ago (he was 15 at the time). He had his forearms tattoed, once the doctors said he could. He can't feel anything where the scarring is but it looks pretty nasty, so I gave premission for him to get the tattoos, so he could feel halfway normal. I would rather have someone point and stare at my son's tattoos over his deformity.

Here are a few more pictures of syndactyly. Sorry, I don't know how to add to the main post. My son was born with complex syndactyly - the bones were fused at the tip. We decided to let him have separation surgery. It was a tough decision but he did very well. We do have many keepsakes from his pre-surgery days, handprints and clay molds that I'll keep forever. I loved his fingers... Someday I hope he'll let me know that I made the right choice. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
