You're right, except for the karma ridiculousness. There's no such thing as karma. It's just magical thinking.
And worse than threatening people with it's concept are people who only do good to others because they don't want bad karma.

Myself, I think of karma as more of an extension to the Golden Rule - The good of evil you do, threefold, shall come back to you.
It does, too. One way or another, it circles back around and bites you in the ass.
You can tell those who are suffering from it's effects, because they are always the ones who are pissing and moaning the loudest. Funny as hell, actually!
