Shock. A friend of mine had an uncle that blew his arm off with a bomb. At first, he looked down at his detached limb and just kept trying to 'stick' his arm back on his torso thinking that it should automatically reattach.  |

The only dumb ass here is the police guy who throws a stun grenade ("flashbang") into a crowd. It may have killed someone and probably everyone in 3m range has a hearing defect now... I hope they sue the shit out of him. It's a flashbang, the cloud after detonation is not teargas but the smoke of the explosive used - the same is used in professional fireworks because of the flash and the very loud thunder. |

His uncle said he was experiencing those moments like he was in a real life cartoon. It didn't seem real to him. No immediate pain. No sound. Just this surreal situation that he could not wrap his mind around. |
