He said he keeps it hidden from his family.I know his mom would be devastated.He says its all in line with fetishes..something I am so not familiar with.I dont know whether to ask him to stop or not. He was hit by a truck at work a few years ago,and had a double hip replacement surgery,and has been on about every pain killer known.I'm guessing he's immune to all the drugs so has to resort to cutting for a rush or something.Its very frightening to see it,and feel so powerless to do anything about it

sounds like he is purely using it like a drug then. well, like any other addiction, you have to decide what you can live with. a few times i almost killed myself without intending to. ask yourself if you are willing to come home to a dead body one day. you can ask him to stop, you can ask him to seek help, but that does not mean he will. i'm married to an alcoholic, coming up on 28 years, i know. i only quit doing it because I wanted to. That is how it works - you don´t play by the rules BYE BYE!!! If ppl are in therapy time and time again and they sabotage their own healing over and over again what would you do? Waste the therapy place for somebody who does not even want to be helped or give it to somebody who needs it AND appreciates it. Don´t get me wrong I was a cutter myself and I know it´s not a joke or fun or being an attention whore but seriously at one point - when ppl tried to help her countless times and she let them down every single time I´d just let her do whatever she has to and hope she will notice that it´s not going to help her at all and that she does not only hurt herself but also the ppl around her... Cutting does not solve any Problems...  |
