Soldier Survives Knife In Back
This 22yo member of the 2nd Baptist Church in Rio de Janeiro who is also a soldier of the armed forces serving in Rio, was attacked by a man who was trying to thieve from the barracks. With a knife stuck in his back (the blade was about 25 cm), he managed to survive. The attacker faced a Military Police Inquiry and was arrested but denies he was the perpetrator of attempted murder. On August 13 2010 he went to work at the barracks of the Armed Forces where he served. At about 16:55 he was approached and told to pick up garbage that was around the post. When he lowered, he was hit with a blow to his back and didn't realise what happened, he got up and asked what was going on then felt incredible pain. To escape, he threw himself down a 20 metre slope. He reached his back and felt something in him but did not know what it was. He had to run 400 meters for help then was taken to the Hospital of the Air Force of the Galleon operating room. The knife pierced the lung and was the 3 mm of the coronary artery that supplies the heart. He was awarded a medal for bravery by the commanding general |
