Re: Snake Envenomation
THATZ why I like constrictors! no venom!! When the repti-con fair comes, it always amazes me that u can buy king cobras, spitting cobras, erutu vipers & rattlenakes of all types, even the giboon viper (my personal favorite for the most beautiful). Of course the big constrictors...the last visit one vendor had a crocodile (baby) for sale about 20" long & crammed in a little round bowl. would not let me take a pic, the jerk!! U don't even have to have a herb.license-crazy!! I'm sure there will be a law restricting these sales soon, esp since Florida has been over run w/the burmese python & other non-native species that have escaped or been turned loose.

Re: Snake Envenomation
It amazes me too that people can legally purchase venomous snakes. But even the native species are scary. I have woods across the street from my house and the kids play over there a lot as there is a creek and trees to climb, etc. One day my son said they saw a really big snake and to check it out. I did and fortunately he and I talked about snakes and had several garter and king snakes so he knew this snake wasn't normal. Here is was a big copperhead. I immediately talked to the kids and their parents and notified the police. They never did catch it so now the woods are off limits to the kids. |
