Thought it was a western diamondback, but the markings are off and he has no rattle.

"The popular name "hundred pacer" refers to a local belief that, after being bitten, the victim will only be able to walk 100 paces before expiring, however, an antivenin is produced in Taiwan."

The reason you fall down after the bite is that it drops your blood pressure something wicked and you just can't keep going.
