Re: Small Pox
Wheelwash, from the site of the World Health Organization: http://www.who.int/mediacentre/factsheets/smallpox/en/ "Through the success of the global eradication campaign, smallpox was finally pushed back to the horn of Africa and then to a single last natural case, which occurred in Somalia in 1977. A fatal laboratory-acquired case occurred in the United Kingdom in 1978. The global eradication of smallpox was certified, based on intense verification activities in countries, by a commission of eminent scientists in December 1979 and subsequently endorsed by the World Health Assembly in 1980." I am aware that the American Government refused to destroy the remaining 600 vials of the virus and I also know that there was some smallpox breakout propaganda (or not) in the last few years. Since I don't live in the USA, I cannot know if someone was infected with the virus there. The fact is that I'm almost 30, I was not vaccinated against smallpox and I don't know anyone born after 1980 that has been vaccinated. I have never seen ONE person with smallpox and believe me, I live REALLY close to Africa. Now, if you live in a reality where people walk with blisters all over their bodies, then your groan is welcome. |
