Sick Feet

My sister has diabetes and neuropathy. After several weeks with a wound specialist she ended up in the hospital with osteomyelitis. She had surgery to remove the infection that was at the bone. She will find out friday if she will lose her foot.

Re: Sick Feet

That's a bad one. Diabetic patients typically have that type of progression: lose toe, lose foot, above knee amputation, heart attack. In that order. Hope she recovers.

I’m sorry for your Sister.

Thanks for sharing.

Re: Sick Feet

How about you stick your nose in there, take a big whiff, and then report back here with how it smells?

Already know how it smells. I'm a nurse and know well the smell of necrotic tissue.

She may still lose it. She is allergic to penicillin and that what the infection in the bone is susceptible to. Waiting for more info from the doc. She saw him friday.

That's all well and good, but, I'm not, and don't. So, get to sniffing and then describing for the rest of us.

Re: Sick Feet

The crust built up in the heals shows this person DOES NOT TAKE CARE OF HYGIENE AT ALL!!! You have to wash with soap & water DAILY.Use lotion & wear socks & shoes. This is a lazy dirty person that probably has a nasty house with cat & dog piss everywhere! Clean people rarely get this!
