Re: Shotgun Victim
WOW!!!!! Another old post dredged up from the near past...........ho hum, I guess I will have to look at the same shit over and over every time someone discovers the old posts.....listen to me bitch!!!! Actually, it is not ALL insurance companies. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida paid out over $1.5 million for me in 2007 from my back surgery and consequent coma with a medi-helicopter ride. All I wound up paying, in total for EVERYTHING, was $237 for a co-pay to the liver/kidney transplant team for specialty services.

Re: Shotgun Victim
I was quite impressed myself!! I would have paid them 10 times that amount for keeping me alive, as far gone as I was. The transplant team gave my family a 3-5% chance of me even regaining any awareness, let alone where I am today......back to my life and back in medical school. I just saw Dr. Angelis (FL Hospital in Orlando) and he would have never imagined that I will be an ER doctor in a few years......he figured that I would be in a persistent vegetative state until my heart gave out. I simply remind them that I am too much of a bitch to go just yet (I am only 33 y/o, and was 27 when it happened)!! |
