Several Different Pictures of Skin Cancer

These cancers were all treated with Mohs surgery.

Mohs surgery has been used to treat many kinds of skin cancer. The two types which are by far the most commonly treated by Mohs surgery are basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma. These are also the two most common types of skin cancer overall.

Situations where Mohs surgery is particularly suitable:

The skin cancer is located in a cosmetically important or sensitive area, such as around the eyes, nose, ears, lips, or hands.
Skin cancers which are large, aggressive, or rapidly growing.
Skin cancers which have recurred, that is, "returned" after previous treatment.
Skin cancers which have ill-defined or poorly defined edges which are difficult to see.

Re: Several Different Pictures of Skin Cancer

Let's face it, (lol) UV rays are bad. It used to be good for us...remember? Go out and get some sunshine and fresh air, etc...Maybe because of the ozone being damaged it's much more dangerous these days. So we don't go out and suntan anymore; we use tanning beds!
Due to the more prevalent use of tanning beds, recent studies have been conducted, with these results:
For every 10 years of tanning bed use, risk of cancer doubles.

People, get that skin checked by a dermatologist yearly to minimize the disfiguring surgical excavation!

Re: Several Different Pictures of Skin Cancer

i wish they made sunscreen that blocked out ONLY UVA rays. Theyve got stuff that is only made to block out UVB, which are the ones that make u look tan. UVA rays are the nasty ones... they're the most responsible for making u wrinkly and giving u cancer.
