Re: September is Sepsis Awareness Month
Aw wow! Thank you for sharing your little guys story :) That's wonderful that he was strong enough to pull through and you're all very fortunate that it was recognized in time to react. That's the biggest downfall of this damn thing, by the time people are thinking "maybe this is more than a flu" it's mostly too late. I can't say I enjoyed being pampered by the nurses but they sure were amazing and I will never be able to thank them enough. The care and the kindness ...wow. Of course this was my very first hospital stay in my entire life (aside from one night when I had my son), so being 44 and unfamiliar with how things might happen ...it was very frightening. Again, thanks for sharing his story. If you wanted, if you haven't already, you can share your story at www.sepsisalliance.org. That's where my story is, it's where I came to realize how close I'd come to my end. |

Re: September is Sepsis Awareness Month
One of my late brothers' partner had alot of medical issues since March. One was Sepsis in July from a hospital. He had a lump removed from his colon and back and knee surgery. He had to leave his job and hasn't had a check since March and hasn't found another one. Very sad. Things can always be worse. (Not directed toward you, WinglessAngel). I'm just saying alot of us have medical and emotional issues going on. Damn! |

Re: September is Sepsis Awareness Month
home and dry! stayed at a friends for a week. one of the cat ladies at work came to my home and took care of my cats. its been really hot lately. some how, i do believe the original post has truly served a purpose for me. i so much want to jump into the pool but will definitely wait until i am completely healed (21 staples removed yesterday). then it will probably be too cold. but there is always next year.

Re: September is Sepsis Awareness Month
Hello Princess! I'm so glad to hear from you and thrilled you've returned home in good spirits. Lucky for you the weather is hot (it's only 6 degrees here today). 21 staples sounds like a hell of a thing, good on ya for coming through it well. You're right, it may be too cold to jump in the pool by the time you're healed up but there is certainly next year !! !! !! ...for both of us. Thank you for being an inspiration to me, maybe one day we can go swimming together :) |
