Self-Harm/Cutting
I have gone back and forth about posting these photos for over a year. I finally decided that some of you might enjoy them so that out weighed the fact that some of you might be mean about it. So here ya go. I have Major Depression with Psychotic Features. Which means when I get severely depressed I can become psychotic but I only have psychosis when I am extremely depressed. The oldest of these photos are about 14 months old. The last photo is the scaring I have today. I have been going through ECT and I am doing so much better. I am not depressed and I am therefore not hearing the same two voices that come along with the depression. I have more photos. If you all want more, I will post them. Hope you have a great weekend! |

Re: Self-Harm/Cutting
As another suffering with depression I am very happy to learn that you are doing well! I certainly hope you maintain and keep living happy! As far as pictures, I would be interested in seeing pictures of your past cutting... but also, as a past cutter myself, I would also really like you to be able to say this set here is your LAST episode of self-harm!!! :D Good luck, good life and good love for your future! |

Re: Self-Harm/Cutting
I started to cut myself back in 1996. The girl I lost my virginity to was toying with my emotions. I carved a question mark (lol..pre internet, teenage bullshit), with a razor blade, on the inside of my left leg. Cutting because of pain came and went. I had another gf, who enjoyed blood letting during sex. I have plenty of scars on my chest from that. But I have NEVER EVER, cut in places where people can see. Chest, upper arms, legs (during winter when I wore long pants), until a few years ago. I was toying with suicide. I would take tons of antihistamines, every night, and hope I didn't wake up. I then started to cut my left wrist. Again, flirting with death. I'm still here (obviously). I despise people who show off their scars. It's all about attention. However, your story is different. I wish this post was available to me when I was 19 and nursing my very first broken heart. I still think about suicide, every single day, after I leave a job I hate, bills, family members I am estranged from, but I'm still pushing forward. Thanks for sharing your story and photos. I hope you continue to recover, with no more tendencies.
