Re: Seat Belt Injury

I'd much rather have a wicked laceration and some bruising, than you know, be dead

Re: Seat Belt Injury

Friend of mine got into an accident and smashed her face up real good for not wearing her seat belt, yet she said she felt safer without it!

Oh no please, say what you want, I'd love to hear it! Even I gave her a good verbal spanking for such stupidity.

Re: Seat Belt Injury

I buckle up the second my ass meets the car's seat..
I'd take that over being ejected from a window at high speed..or through a windshield at high speed etc..
Then you have..being ejected, and ran over by the tractor trailer behind you etc.
Not to mention..airbags...not buckled in properly..an airbag will mess you up..(and our car has 10 airbags!..silly Chevy Sonic.)

And..the seatbelt prevents you from becoming the next possible stickied post right here!

Re: Seat Belt Injury

I don't get how anyone can ride in a car without a seat belt, it just feels WEIRD!

I think the belt injury is nothing compared to what he would be like without it

Re: Seat Belt Injury

Let me be an example as what not to do, please!!

I did not have my seatbelt on and got in an accident in Oct 2009. I broke two vertebrae in my neck, which later had to be fused. I was ejected and had a TBI and two skull fractures, and was in a coma for eight days. I got to learn how to walk again, and learn my name, and age and tons of other things. Somehow I remembered my children, but I thought they were different ages than they are. I did not, and never will remember the accident. I'll never run again, I'm lucky I can walk, lucky to be here at all. There were a bunch of smaller injuries along with those I listed, like a broken wrist, and various lacerations, but those were the worst.

I wish I had what this guy has!

I wasn't aware this had happened to you. Glad you survived and learned to do things again, tough lady
