Re: Samoan Deformed Baby

I totally agree Snobun, and I do not say this lightly.I understand there want for there child too live because of the love they have for there child, but New Zealand had it right, even if she did survive what kind of quality of life would she TRULY have??Do not bash me as I feel I have some experience in this area as my child had to be taken off life support because of a traumatic brain injury at the age of 7.I could have kept him alive but what kind of existence would he have had?I had to dig deep and come to the conclusion that if I had kept him alive it would have only been for my sake.I chose to not be selfish and keep him in a body that he would never be able to use again as he had no brain function at all.
Wow, that is absolutely devastating I'm so sorry for your loss...no parent should have to go through that! I understand your point of view completely - it isn't fair to keep a suffering child alive just for your own benefit. It is truly heartbreaking, and the loss of a child is something that will never completely heal, but in the end you can at least take solace in the fact that you made the right choice in not prolonging their suffering, and knowing that they are no longer trapped in their prison of a body and are finally free. My thoughts and heart go out to you and your family, and to your little one that is now happy and healthy, and waiting to meet you again when your time comes! *Hugs*

Great, so US taxpayers paid for all of the medical care. It doesn't matter, it is still blind, deaf, and barely alive on a brain level. It would be better off dead because of all of that.
