Russia - Removing Fragment From Soldiers Heart
Surgeons were able to remove a fragment directly from the Russian fighter’s heart The wounded military man was saved literally at the last moment, when he had already lost a lot of blood and was close to death. Doctors in the operating room filmed footage of the fragment being removed. The patient is currently undergoing rehabilitation. |

It's nothing short of a miracle that he survived that. Well done, docs!

Re: Russia - Removing Fragment From Soldiers Heart
I’ve been there… They removed bone fragments from my spinal canal for about 6 hours. They were working right under my heart and left lung.. |

Re: Russia - Removing Fragment From Soldiers Heart
I crashed skydiving. I had a double malfunction where my main and reserve parachute tangled up. I created the problem by pulling too low and having my AAD deploy my reserve parachute while my main was in deployment. I cut away the main and it tangled in the right rear control lines of my reserve. I was able to get enough control that I didn’t spiral into my death. I survived with a broken back. Compound burst fracture of L1. The damage was inward not outward. They had to come in through my left side instead of putting me on my stomach and cutting my back open. They removed my lowest rib on the left side for more room to work. Once they finished removing bone fragments from my spinal canal they cut my rib into three pieces and placed those pieces into the area where I’d lost bone from my vertebrae. I also have a titanium fixture bolted into T12 and L2 on the left side of my spinal column right behind my heart. It was 12 plus hours of surgery at the cost of .5 Million dollars. The piece of metal inside me cost $50,000.00 It happened two days before I had my 35th birthday. I told everyone for weeks, “Here comes my midlife crisis birthday.” Two days before I crashed. The day before I was in surgery and the day of I woke up a brand new man! I was back skydiving in July and crashed in September. I just recently had my birthday on the 19th. I jumped for two summers after my crash. I walk with a heavy limp and my left leg is paralyzed from the knee down. I can’t move my left foot on its own. My right foot works some, enough to drive normally without hand controls. I’ve got other issues but no need to air my baggage here. I don’t complain , ever. I just live my life everyday. It was the best thing to ever happen to me. It pulled my head out of my ass and I’ve led a much better life because of it.. |

Re: Russia - Removing Fragment From Soldiers Heart
Thanks Homey~ it was like looking down the barrel of a loaded gun that went off and missed its target as the bullet went by cutting a nice groove from my cheek.. I’m glad I made it too… I live in the US and was living in California at the time. It took two years and a few denials before I was granted government disability. That covered my medical bills and put me on a government plan for the duration of my life. I can walk into the emergency room and never get a bill for it.. *limp into the emergency room… |
