Re: Rotting Feet...

Sometimes I wonder if medical professionals do amputations for the hell of it, or it's absolutely necessary. I had a blood infection from an ingrown toenail on my big toe, and one of the nurses told the doctor to cut off my big toe just as I woke up from having a bone biopsy (to determine if the infection spread to my bones... turns out it didn't). I wanted to punch the fucker for even suggesting that, but I was still drowsy from the meds.

They were being (overly) cautious. Infections that spread into bones can be life threatening and very hard to treat. Sorry about the loss of your toe, I bet it's made walking difficult.

Re: Rotting Feet...

My aunt was had poorly controlled, lifelong type I diabetes. Have no idea how she escaped ulcerations and amputation but she did.
