From a Russian Telegram channel:
This soldier was wounded back in April; [these photos were taken] on July 7th.
There was no evacuation. He was holed up in a basement. Food and water were occasionally dropped by drone. His only medication was a 10-day course of Amoxiclav.
He treated the wound with his own urine; the tissue rotted, and maggots ate away the necrotic flesh. A tourniquet had been applied to the lower third of his shin, while phlegmon had developed above it.
More than 90 days elapsed between the moment he was wounded and his arrival at a facility where he could receive proper medical care. And there are countless cases just like this.
He survived. But he survived not because he was "lucky," but in spite of the time he spent waiting for evacuation.
