Then shame on them. Too often you see it get to a point like this through fear and ignorance, trying "natural" quack remedies, ignoring it and hoping it will go away, etc. When someone is actually trying to get it taken care of, that should be embraced by the medical community. I know my brother-in-laws ex-fiancé died of cancer because she was told to go get a biopsy on a lump on her breast. She said she was too scared at the time and rationalized it with things like "I have naturally lumpy breasts". This occurred before he met her. Flash forward 6 years later and she had stage 4 cancer that had spread all over and an 18 year old kid that had just graduated from high school that was about to be parentless. |
