From what I've heard from a friend who cuts is: there's not pain. Apparently there is mental/psychological pain and this relieves it. Crazy to me though. Arghh  |

Def does hurt. With severe cuts you fuck up your nerves which makes some shit just numb. But in general self harm hurts, people just kind of push through it/are used to the pain.

I’ve seen two cutters in my life. One at the mental health peer support center. And one at AA meetings. Both very attractive women. I don’t consider it attention seeking. From listening to them, It seems to be mental pain releasing. Though I can’t quite wrap my head around it. My heart breaks for them.

I've been self harming for 33 years of my life, not once have I thought about recording it or discussing it on a fucking forum for tips and commendations. It's something I'll struggle with for the rest of my life but I will never show it off to strangers on the internet. Dickheads like the op give people who struggle with the stigma a bad name.
