Re: Removing A Piece Of Metal From The Eye

Been there, done that, it sucked.
Mine was stuck in my eye for about 20 hours because there was no eye surgeon available at night, so they had to use a drill and then a scraper or chisel to get it out, the scraping is also an experience, you can hear it in your head, which gives you goosebumps. You see after a few hours the eye starts to grow tissue over the metal splinter, after which normal removal is no longer possible. Also they numb your eye so you can't feel or move anymore, it's like having battery acid poured in your eye and then it took about a full minute or so before it went numb. My advise, wear fucking eye protection!

Made me cringe. I had that done to me a few years back.

Re: Removing A Piece Of Metal From The Eye

My eyes are the one thing that I am over-sensitive about.

Re: Removing A Piece Of Metal From The Eye

I have had this done numerous times. Except my surgeries (i have had 3) where done with a very tiny drill. It wasn't painful, and didn't hurt afterwards.. but I tell you what, having that piece of metal in your eye is worth every penny of having it removed.

It feels like sand paper in your eye, literally.

Re: Removing A Piece Of Metal From The Eye

I've got to have surgery on my eye in december because I've got diabetic maculopathy. Not looking forward to it because a) they inject the eye to paralyse it and b) I'm afraid of needles (yes, a diabetic afraid of needles) and I won't be able to close my eyes as they bring a syringe closer and closer to my eyeball. Yuck!
