Have to keep it open for a few days. Let it heal from the inside out. Had one removed from my shoulder. Had to clean and repack it for 3 days, then the doc just put a couple of stitches in to hold it closed. Only have a little scar now.

Had a wound like that on my thigh from a brown recluse bite that had to be cut out. It had to heal from the inside out too. Hurt like hell but it healed quickly.
