Raynaud's Phenomenon

In medicine, Raynaud's phenomenon is a vasospastic disorder causing discoloration of the fingers, toes, and occasionally other areas. This condition can also cause nails to become brittle with longitudinal ridges. Named for French physician Maurice Raynaud (1834–1881), the phenomenon is believed to be the result of vasospasms that decrease blood supply to the respective regions. Emotional stress and cold are classic triggers of the phenomenon.

Re: Raynaud's Phenomenon

This is a miserable thing to have. My fingers don't get any where near as bad as these, but they do get tingly and white. Good post.

That's neat! Unfortunate, but neat. It almost looks as if most of them dipped their fingertips in paint or something. The body is an amazing, complex mystery...

Aw that's very sad, I'm sorry honey :( *hugs* I know how it feels to lose loved ones; the worst for me was losing one of my best friends last year that I knew since I was 2, and my grandma whom I was very close to that passed away almost 9 years ago...I miss them every day.

Re: Raynaud's Phenomenon

i am convinced that if i lives somewhere that snows I would get this. Even as it is in a mild australian winter my fingers turn a shade of mauve and get ice cold.
