The red lines are the palmar arch, arising from the ulnar and radial arteries. The ulnar nerve can be seen arising from deep to the flexor retinaculum alongside the entry of the ulnar artery. What we see is the superficial branch which supplies the skin for the medial 1 1/2 fingers. The deep branch supplies the muscles of the same, and the remaining nerves we can see are branches of the median nerve. |

That's okay! I didn't know how to phrase it so I didn't come off sounding like a douche, so just hit 'post' and trusted a DR poster would like to hear about goopy bits no matter what the context. I'm also studying for an atomy exam at the moment, so it's fresh in my brain. DR members might like the exam itself - walk into a room lined with specimens in various states of dissection, each with a pin in a certain structure, could be anything. Identify the structure and answer a question about it. They're stressful but very fun. And humble thanks to the selfless donors, of course. |
