My niece has what's known as "closed" spina bifida.....but there's really nothing wrong with her...she took a bit longer to potty train, sher's got little twigs for legs, and she does have some problems with silly things like making shapes and coloring inside the lines, but other than that she's one of the smartest little squirts on the planet. And a star player on her little peewee soccer team!

Achondrogenesis - skeeltal dysplasia, extremely short limbs, poorly ossified skull spine and pelvis and severe pulmonary hypoplasia. 1 in 40,000 births.

This looks like the condition my little cousin Jay died from. My aunt was induced at 7 months because she had a HUGE amount of amniotic fluid, plus the ultrasounds were showing no limb growth whatsoever. He only lived for a few hours. I never got to meet him. But I tell my aunt, uncle, and his two sisters to always remember they have a Guardian Angel looking out for all of them.
