End-stage lymphedema, also known as lymphostatic elephantiasis, is the final stage of lymphedema and is characterized by extreme swelling in a limb due to a buildup of lymph fluid. Possible causes are (liver)lcirrhosis, partially removed lymph nodes due to (breast) cancer treatment, erysipelas, or roundworm. |

well, i guess the buildup of fluid isn't as easy as just draining it huh? the last photo though , after all of that trauma and debriding of the legs, the skin can't just grow back , can it? must have had skin graft surgery. ewwww. it's shocking, but damn, how resilient the human body is. Iswear.  |
