I've seen these types of injuries multiple times in vehicle accidents & there's usually no need to to use the tourniquet such as here. But good gruesome post. |

They are supposed to be stupid tight. In this type of situation, the tighter the better. You're trying to prevent blood loss and save a life. You aren't hurting anything at this point.
