There is no such thing as 100% effective birth control. I hate when people get all up on their high horse acting like people are using abortions as their only method of birth control. Women have gotten pregnant despite using condoms, medical birth control, and even after having their tubes tied. Murder is an illegal killing of a human being. Abortion is the legal termination of a pregnancy performed mostly in the first trimester. If you care so much about humanity and people, care about the various issues involving unplanned pregnancies and the poverty situations that cause women to seek out abortion providers and direct your energy to curing all the world's problems. |

People, its about constitutional rights. Are you prepared to say that an adult woman has no right to choose what happens to her own body? Religion has NOTHING to do with it. That should only impact an individuals choice of whether abortion is right for THEM. It is not the governments place to impose what is essentially a religious opinion on the citizens. From a strictly social standpoint, if more women aborted their unwanted embryos, there would be a shit load less neglected, unwanted kids in this world.

No one is trying to deny anyone the ability to put their baby up for adoption. It's YOUR choice. It's YOUR body. All your "god" references are irrelevant, because that brings religion into the discussion. Its not about religion. Its about civil rights, and the fact that it is NOT the governments place to dictate what a woman does with her body. And don't say that the government is saving lives...if that was the case, then we should pass laws that require people to prove that they have the financial capability to raise kids, and the intelligence to raise them right. As long as people have the right to GET pregnant, they have the right to get UN-pregnant.

If abortions were no longer allowed then people would end up resorting to back yard jobs etc. The fact of the matter is even if you personally don't like it, it's still happening and it's going to continue to happen as long as humans continue to have sex. I can't see the human population abstaining in mass numbers anytime soon...so we just have to deal with the reality of it all. I know that this debate could go on forever and both sides of the specturm usually have sway in thier opinions. |
