Porphyrias

Porphyrias are a group of rare inherited or acquired disorders of certain enzymes that normally participate in the production of porphyrins and heme, (the pigment in red blood cells).

They manifest with either neurological complications or skin problems or occasionally both. When skin is affected, it is manifested in photosensitivity, blisters, itching, and swelling.

Re: Porphyrias

If it can't be cured with hydrocortisone cream or triple antibiotic in a timely matter, time to get it checked by a doctor ;)

Re: Porphyrias

Porphyria is one of the diseases that scientists today think may have contributed to the hysteria about vampires in the Dark and Middle Ages
