Holoprosencephaly is a defect of the midline facial features and a failure of the brain to develop into separate hemispheres.

At this severity it is lethal. It can be the result of many different genetic abnormalities, and sometimes the cause is unknown. The fellow with the ears where his chin should be also has no development of the lower jaw.
