Pictures of Drowned Haitians

Text that came with the pictures.

Most everyone has heard about the four hurricanes that have hit Haiti in varying spots. And probably a lot of people have heard about the devastation. Haiti is truly the Job of countries. You don't think it can get worse--awful poverty to begin with, recently skyrocketing prices for food, American politicians and bureaucrats who hold up aid, corrupt and incompetent Haitian officials --and now this: destructive hurricanes on an island with little topsoil to absorb the water and little capacity to help people before or after the storms.

Re: Pictures of Drowned Haitians

I don't understand- who would put their dead naked baby stacked in the back of a pickup truck? There isn't a towel or cloth or piece of random material any where to bundle them up in? Seems so cold and heartless.

I'm thinking the same, they should have more respect for them.

honestly the people collecting the bodies aren't probly related to them. and maybe thats all they had at the moment. its a pretty poverty-stricken area.

Re: Pictures of Drowned Haitians

The people doing it have probably spent days collecting semi-naked nameless corpses, of varying ages. Maybe people they knew, maybe not. I'm pretty sure you couldn't mourn for every body you found, you know? You'd end up being pretty desensitized. Besides, the faces need to be visible so that thier mothers and fathers (or other living relatives) can find them and give them a burial.
