On February 22, 2008, War Machine plead guilty to a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery, and was fined and sentenced to probation.[30]

In August, 2010, War Machine was sentenced to one year in the county jail for a felony assault conviction stemming from a fight at a Point Loma bar earlier in the year, as well as an additional fight at a Pacific Beach bar.[31][32] He was imprisoned in the San Diego's George Bailey Detention Facility and served time in administrative segregation.[33]

After going to jail, Machine maintained his Twitter account as well as a blog documenting his time in jail. In this blog, he stated that "The oppression of MEN is worse than oppression of Jews in Nazi Germany, worse than the slavery of Blacks in early America... I'm not exaggerating either."[34]

On February 1, 2012, it was announced via Machine's Twitter that he will be serving another year of jail time, due to preceding events. He was released on October 29, 2012.

Christy Mack is currently in hospital as she recovers from massive injuries she sustained on August 8, allegedly at the hands of her MMA fighter ex-boyfriend War Machine. She lost several teeth during the attack, and celebrity dentist Dr. Nicholas Toscano has offered to fix them for free.
Christy Mack, 23, suffered through something unimaginable on August 8 when her ex-boyfriend, War Machine, 32, arrived at her home on August 8 and allegedly beat her so badly that she believed that she was going to die. However, fans and strangers alike have been rallying behind her, including Dr. Nicholas Toscano — a total stranger to her — who has stepped in to offer free dental work to repair the massive damage she sustained.

“I’ve worked with the victims of hate crimes, with battered women, with gay advocacy groups,” Dr. Toscano revealed to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “I was in the Navy for 13 years so I’ve always been about helping people.”

As the hunt for MMA fighter 'War Machine' continues, his ex-girlfriend Christy Mack continues her recovery.

“I saw her story and felt really bad about what she went through and felt something to had be done. I know he [allegedly] beat and abused her pretty bad. I don’t care what the occurrence is; you just don’t put your hands on a woman. I can help, and and it’s the right thing to do for her and for battered women elsewhere. People should always try to help whenever they can.

Such a great attitude! Christy is in good hands — Dr. Toscano has treated celebrity patients like the Real Housewives Of New York and even Hillary Clinton and George W. Bush while he was serving in the Navy!

“I don’t know the extent of the damage, but from what I hear she has a couple of teeth knocked out and pieces of her jaw are broken,” said Dr. Toscano.

“Christie is a beautiful girl and she had a very stunning smile and we need to restore that and it will be quite pricey but whatever it is it doesn’t matter.”

Christy Mack: Procedure To Fix Her Teeth Would Regularly Cost Upwards Of $75,000
The procedure, which regularly costs upwards of 75 thousand dollars, could take longer than a year. “It depends on if she needs implants and reconstruction and bone grafts and then those take approximately 4–6 months to heal. It can take upwards of a year for her to get her smile back which is very debilitating to her psyche.

Dr. Toscano is not sure when he’ll be able to start work on her teeth, however — “It will all be dependent on when she gets out of the hospital and what medical rehab she needs to do first so that she is ready to get on a plane and fly to New York so I can work on her.”

However, as mentioned above, Dr. Toscano is not the only one reaching out to help. Fellow porn star Kendall Karson set up a GiveForward page in order to raise the $100,000 that will be required for Christy’s eventual facial reconstruction surgery. As of this writing, with 90 days left, Christy’s fans and well wishers have already donated over half of the amount needed.

There are several bounties out on War Machine’s head, including from Pawn Stars‘ Corey Harrison, who has put up a 10 grand reward, and sex toy company Fleshlight has put up $5,000 of their own for any information which leads to the capture of War Machine.

We’re so glad that so many people are rallying behind Christy and we hope that justice will be served.

Prior to his alleged attack on ex-girlfriend Christy Mack on August 8, War Machine did not exactly have a sterling reputation. In Nov. 2013, he made a completely insensitive rape ‘joke’ on Twitter.

Adult film actress Christy Mack, 23, and MMA fighter War Machine, 32, went public with their romance in June 2013. Not long after, War Machine (born Jon Koppenhaver) made an incredibly insensitive rape “joke” on Twitter — not only was it not funny, it did not seem as if he was joking at all. In fact, it revealed his deep seated misogyny which may have been a factor in the vicious beating on August 8 which Christy alleges was at War Machine’s hands.


War Machine’s Rape Joke:


"Just raped [Christy Mack] She tried to make me wait until “after errands” As if! [sic],” War Machine said in August 2013, reported IBTimes at the time. The tweet has since been deleted.

War Machine’s tweet was, of course, met with outrage, to which he responded: “Real men rape.(Their GF’s and wives, not strangers, don’t get your panties in a bunch.)”

The MMA fighter continued to try to clarify his statements, with no level of success:

“Apparently you idiots didn’t read my tweet prior to the one y’all are crying about, it puts it in the right context. Sensitive a**b******. Context is the word…y’all motherf****** just love to take what I say out of CONTEXT and then attempt to demonize me with it.”

He also joked about killing Christy during an interview from July 2013.

War Machine is a known misogynist, and it’s no surprise that he seems to think that there’s no such thing as rape within a relationship. His website, Alpha Male Sh**, sells a number of items which hint to his belief that men are superior to women, such as a women’s long-sleeved shirt with “I [heart] That Alpha Male Sh**” written on. Another winner is a “motivational” tank top for women which has “Bikini Season Is Coming” written on. (The motivational tank top for men says: “Don’t Be A P*ssy”.)

Pressure was clearly put on War Machine after his statements by Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney; War Machine finally tweeted the following apology:

“I tweeted something earlier that was stupid, insensitive and wrong. Rape is never something to joke about ever. I sincerely apologize.”

Worth noting is that War Machine’s now former employer, Bellator, is standing by Christy. “We have a zero tolerance policy here at Bellator when it relates to any form of domestic violence,” Bellator president Scott Coker told TMZ. “After learning of this latest incident involving (Jon Koppenhaver) War Machine, Bellator is releasing him from his promotional contract with the organization.”

Here’s what Christy had to say at the time about the scandal:“To be clear, [War Machine] says stupid things at times; we all know this. He did not rape me, nor would he rape any woman (or man)”

War Machine Has Yet To Be Charged; However, His Side Of The Story Is A Little Suspect...
While War Machine has yet to be charged with beating Christy Mack to the point that she’ll need $100,000 in reconstructive surgery, his history and his comments following the beating do not endear him to the public at large. His side of the story, which he wrote in a series of tweets on August 10, not only places him at Christy’s house on the evening of the incident, but also seems incredibly suspect.

Here’s what he wrote:

“I’m not a bad guy, I went to surprise my gf, help her set up her show and to give her an engagement ring and ended up fighting for my life.

“The cops will never give me fair play, never believe me. Still deciding what to do but at the end of the day it’s all just heart breaking. I only wish that man hadn’t been there and that Christy & I would behappily engaged.I don’t know y I’m so cursed.One day truth will come out.”


And here’s what he tweeted at Christy:


“love you and hope you’re okay. I came him early to surprise you and help you set up for your convention. I can’t believe what I found and can’t believe what happened. All I wanted was to surprise you and help and do something nice…now this.. I’m so heart broken…in all ways.

“I will always love you. I just wanted to see your face when I surprised you with the ring …this is a nightmare. You’re in my thoughts.”
